The Windansea Competition Team represents the club in the Coalition of Surfing Clubs. Sixteen tournament titles, and the trophy case isn’t full yet.

La Jolla Board Riders
Founded in 2019 by Cordon Baesel and Chuck Davey and sponsored by the club, LJBR is a shortboard team made up of the surfers populating the Windansea lineup. After a few too many fourth-place finishes they came back with a new strategy — and won.

The Windansea Classics
Community-led contests on Windansea Beach, organized by local surfers when the south swell lines up and the wind and fog stay away — often called the morning of. Placement is bragging rights in the lineup. The winners of every division meet in the Superheat, and the names go on the commemorative board.

After the passing of Ted Smith, Windansea surfers honor his life with a contest on the anniversary, December 31st — ending the year surrounded by friends and family.
